Welcome to Swappatoy! These terms are a contract between you and Swappatoy governing your use of the site and its services. By creating an account or using Swappatoy, you agree to them.

1. Who can use Swappatoy

Accounts may only be held by adults aged 18 or older — parents, guardians, and caregivers. Children may enjoy the toys, but the swapping is grown-up business.
One account per person. Creating accounts to farm free starter tokens is prohibited and will result in removal.
You are responsible for everything posted from your account and for keeping your login credentials safe.

2. Toy listings and swaps

List only toys you own and are genuinely willing to swap or share.
Describe condition honestly, including missing pieces or defects.
Toys are exchanged "as is." Swappatoy does not inspect, certify, or guarantee any toy's condition, safety, hygiene, or suitability for any age.
Recalls: before listing or accepting a toy, check it against official recall lists (for example the CPSC recall database at cpsc.gov/Recalls). Do not list recalled, damaged, or unsafe items. You are solely responsible for the safety of items you give and receive.
Prohibited: weapons or realistic imitation weapons, recalled products, items with strong odors/mold/pest exposure, and anything illegal to sell or transfer in your region.

3. In-person meetups

Swaps happen in person between neighbors. Swappatoy is not a party to any meetup and accepts no responsibility for what happens at one. Use common-sense precautions: meet in public places (libraries, community centers, busy parks), bring a friend if you can, and trust your instincts. You participate in meetups and community events — including those posted on the Event Board — entirely at your own risk.

4. Toy Tokens

Toy Tokens (TT) are a community courtesy system, not money. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed, refunded, or transferred outside the platform, and may be adjusted by moderators in cases of abuse or error.
Purchased tokens support server costs. Purchases are processed by Stripe and are final, except where required otherwise by law.
Spending tokens requires a verified email address. Token balances are maintained server-side and all transactions are logged.

5. Community conduct

Be kind and honest. Harassment, hate speech, scams, and spam are not tolerated.
Use the "Report listing" button for unsafe or inappropriate content — moderators review every report.
We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that break these rules, at our discretion.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Swappatoy is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Swappatoy and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss, or damage arising from toys exchanged, meetups attended, or the conduct of other users. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we protect it — including how contact details stay private until you accept a swap, and how photo location metadata is removed.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site and the effective date above will be updated. Continuing to use Swappatoy after a change means you accept the new terms.
